BUF-PIT - FLT 356 - AFTER LANDING GEAR RETRACTION, RECEIVED LEFT MLG MESSAGE.  PERFORMED QRH PROCEDURES AND RECYCLED THE LANDING GEAR.  FLIGHT RETURNED TO FIELD AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN BUF.  MAINTENANCE REPLACED THE LEFT MAIN GAER BUFFER DAMPER.  CHECKS OK.  (M)
