FLT 6523 - JFK-ROC - RETURNED TO GATE DUE TO NAV SELECT KNOB FELL OFF CONTROL HEAD, AND WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS.  MAINTENANCE RESECURED NAV SELECT KNOB, OPS CHECK OK.  AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED AND RETURNED TO SERVICE.  (M)
