FLT 723, JFK - LAX (ETOPS).  NR 2 ENGINE FIRE LOOP -A- FAULTED.  ENGINE FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS 1, LOOP A.   FOUND #2 ENG LOOP A FWD FIRE / OVHT DETECTOR (4002WD2) FAILED INSULATION RESISTANCE CHK. REMOVED AND REPLACED  #2 ENG FWD FIRE / OVHT DETECTOR ASSY 4002WD2 REF AMM 26-12-17. OPS CHK GOOD. NO FAULTS NOTED. MDDR REMAINS OPEN PER MCC SAI FOR MONITORING
