Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration Book Supplemental Type Certificate Number: SA00278SE This certificate issued to: Aeronautical Testing Service, Inc.

18820 59th Drive NE Arlington, WA 98223 Part 21 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, (FAR 21.29, 21.25(a)(1) and FAR 23 effective February 1, 1965, including amendments 23-1 through 23-16).

Original Product -Type Certificate Number: A47EU Make: Mielec Model: PZL M18, PZL M18A and PZL M18B Description of Type Design Change: Fabrication and Installation of vortex generators and delta wings" mounted on the airplane wings, and strakes mounted above the left and right-hand wing/fuselage junctions in accordance with an FAA approved copy of Aeronautical Testing Service, Inc., Drawing List No. ATS-M18, Revision "E", dated April 8, 1997, or later FAA approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model aircraft only, either in the standard Mielec configuration or modified by STC No. SA01276AT, covering a gross weight increase to 11,700 Ibs. This approval should not be extended to other aircraft of these models on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined that the relationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications, including changes in type design, will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that aircraft. A copy of this Certificate must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified aircraft.

The ATS modification consists of eighty-four (84) vortex generators and four (4) "delta wings" mounted on the wings and two (2) strakes, one each mounted above the left and right-hand wing/fuselage junctions. If four (4) vortex generators are missing or damaged, the aircraft must be flown in accordance with the original markings, placards, and manual. If more than six (6) vortex generators are missing or damaged, or if a "delta wing" or strake is missing or damaged, the aircraft is not airworthy and must be repaired before flight. This modification does not yet provide for an aircraft stall speed change. This may be addressed via the introduction of an Airplane Flight Manual Supplement at a later date.

The STC holder will provide a written permission statement to each person it authorizes to use this certificate to alter the product.
