Description of Type Design Change: Removal of Piper PA-31 series main landing gear inboard doors, in accordance with American Aircraft Engineering drawing “Piper PA-31 MLG I/B Door Removal Procedure”, Document Number ST580-1, Revision None, dated December 12, 2002, or later FAA approved revision.

1. Compatibility of the design change with previously approved modifications must be determined by the installer.

2. Accomplishment of the actions in this STC, permanent removal of inboard main gear doors and hinge assemblies, removes the requirement for compliance with AD 2000-25-01.

3. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
