Description of Type Design Change: Installation of Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC LEESPA12 ESA-180, LEESPA12ESA-SM, and LEESPA12ESA-LM Exhaust Systems, in accordance with Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC, Exhaust System Installation and Maintenance Instructions Report No. LEESPA18EXH-INST-1, Revision G, dated November 02, 2005, or later FAA approved revision.

1. Compatibility of this design change, with previously approved modifications, must be determined by the installer.

2. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.

3. For Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, refer to Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC, Exhaust System Installation and Maintenance Instructions Report No. LEESPA18EXH- INST-1, Revision G, dated November 02, 2005, or later FAA approved revision.

4. Installation of Leading Edge PA-12 ESA-180 Exhaust System is limited to aircraft that have previously been modified by installation of a Lycoming O-320 150 hp or 160 hp engine or Lycoming O-360 180 hp engine in accordance with FAA approved data.

Installer must ensure proper clearances exist between Exhaust System and all lines, hoses, ducts, baffles, and gascolator per installation instructions. There are Lycoming O-360 180 hp installations that are not compatible with this installation.

This exhaust system is not compatible with Crosswinds STC SA553AL and SA610AL.

5. LEESPA12ESA-180 is compatible with aircraft equipped with Lycoming O-360 180 hp engines only. Components are found on Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC, Drawing List No. LEESPA12ESA-DL-1.

LEESPA12ESA-SM is compatible with aircraft equipped with Lycoming O-320 150 hp and 160 hp engines and short engine mounts only. Components are found on Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC Drawing List No. LEESPA12ESA-DL-2.

LEESPA12ESA-LM is compatible with aircraft equipped with Lycoming O-320 150 hp and 160 hp engines and long engine mounts only. Components are found on Leading Edge Exhaust Systems, LLC Drawing List No. LEESPA12ESA-DL-3.
