United States Of America Department of Transportation - Federal Aviation Administration Supplemental Type Certificate Reissued on December 26, 2012 to supersede the original STC, which has been lost or misplaced.

Part 3 of the Civil Air Regulations.

This aircraft must be operated in the Restricted Category when configured in accordance with FASD interior Drawing 27-13600, Sheet 4, Revision B, or later FAA approved revision. “Pilot’s Operating Handbook and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual” noted as applicable to the “H.E.S.S. – Merlin IVC – Modification,” dated December 16, 1983, is a required part of this STC. The installer must determine whether this design change is compatible with previously approved modifications. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter a product, the holder must give the other person written evidence of that permission.

Description of Type Design Change(Continued):

Installation of High Endurance Surveillance System (HESS) in accordance with Fairchild Aircraft Service Division (FASD) Master Drawing List, Report No.

DC83V001, Revision K, dated November 7, 1983, or later FAA approved revision.

This modification has been shown to be compatible with the Collins FCS-80 Flight Control System installed in accordance with STC SA1686CE, the Litton LTN-72R Area Navigation System installed in accordance with STC SA1528SO, the Foster RNAV 612 Area Navigation System installed in accordance with STC SA1529SO, and the Global GNS 500A VLF/Omega Navigation System installed in accordance with STC SA1530SO. Therefore, the FAA approved “Pilot’s Operating Handbook and FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual” supplements applicable to the use of those STC installed systems are hereby also approved for use with the Airplane Flight Manual listed under the “Limitations and Conditions” section of this STC.
