Original Product -İype bertificate Number: E-246 Make: Continental Model: E-185-1, E-185-3, E-185-8, E-185-9, and E-185-11 Replacement of the original engine oil screen with an oil adapter and spin-on filter in accordance with 1) FAA sealed copies of Timberman Master Drawing List No. AT-1-185-DL, dated March 29, 1988, and Installation Instructions No. AT-1-185-11, revised February 24, 1988, or later FAA Approved revision, or 2) Drawing List No AT-1E-185-DL, revised April 1, 1992, and installation Instructions No. AT-1E-185-11-1, revised December 21, 1990, or later FAA Approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above Continental E-185-1. E-185-8, and E-185-11 model engines which are equipped with Continental Oil Check Valve P/N A25132 and to basic E-185-3 and E-185-9 engines.

approval should not be extended to engines of these models on which previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined that the relationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications, including changes in type design, will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of these Timberman Limitations and Conditions: of Type Certificate Data Sheet Number E-246 for Continental Models E-185-1, E-185-3, E-185-8, E-185-9, and E-185-11 engines remain applicable.

The installation of an engine modified in accordance with this STC will require a determination by the installer that no interference is created with existing aircraft systems.

Engines equipped with the Timberman spin-on oil filter must continue to be maintained in accordance with the original engine manufacturer's maintenance instructions, except as indicated on an FAA sealed copy of Timberman Maintenance Instructions No. Al-1t-185-ML, dated March 11, 1986, or later FAA approved revision, a copy of which must be added to the engine maintenance records.
