Description of the Type Design Change: Installation of Allied Signal Model T5317A or T5317B engines in a Bell Model 205A-1 or 205B helicopter in accordance with Heli-Trade Corp. Maintenance Manual Document, Revision 3, dated May 1, 1998, or later Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: Approval of this change in type design applies to the above model rotorcraft only.

This approval should not be extended to other rotorcraft of this model series unless the installer determines that the relationship between this change and any other previously incorporated approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that rotorcraft.

A copy of this certificate and FAA approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement (RFMS) for Bell Model 205A-1, Revision 1, dated June 24, 1991 (for the T5317A engine), or later FAA-approved revision, RFMS Initial Release, dated May 1, 1998 (for the T5317B engine) later FAA-approved revision, or RFMS for Bell 205B, Initial Release, dated July 27, 2001 (for the T5317B engine installation), or later FAA-approved revision, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified rotorcraft.

If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
