Original Product -Type Certificate Number: H9SW Make: Bell Model: 222, 222B, 222U, 230 and 430 Description of Type Design Change: Installation of a Supplemental Lighting System; manufactured and installed in accordance with Master Drawing List MDL-222004-3, Revision X, dated April 30, 2010 and maintained in accordance with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness ICA-222004-4, Revision D, dated April 20, 2010, or later FAA-approved revision.

Limitations and Conditions: This STC applies to the models listed above and only to the specific serial numbers listed on the Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) Master Drawing List, MDL-222004-3, Revision X, dated April 30, 2010, or later FAA-approved revisions. This rotorcraft employs Night Vision Imaging System lighting, commonly named NVIS, that has been certified to ensure the aircraft is compatible with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).

For this reason, interior and exterior modifications that add or change systems that emit or reflect light have the potential to alter or change the NVIS lighting vs. NVG compatibility. Compatibility of this design with subsequent modifications must be determined by the installer. The determination of compatibility with modifications that emit or reflect light may require a re-evaluation by an FAA aircraft certification office.

A copy of this certificate and the FAA-approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual Supplement (RFMS) FMS-22004-6 Revision E, approved May 04, 2010, or later FAA-approved revisions, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified rotorcraft.

If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter the product, the holder shall give the other person written evidence of that permission.
