Part 4b of the Civil Air Regulations.

Original Product -Type Certificate Number: A-669 Make: McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC) Model: DC3-TP67 Description of Type Design Change:

Supplemental Type Certificate Number SA4840NM is a required prerequisite for this modification. This required STC modifies the engines, propellers, fuel and electrical systems and adds a forward fuselage extension.

2.) This approval should not be extended to aircraft of this model on which other previously approved modifications are incorporated unless it is determined that the relationship between this change and any of those other previously approved modifications will introduce no adverse effect upon the airworthiness of that aircraft.

3.) A copy of this Certificate, Continuation Sheet and FAA Airplane Flight Manual Supplement, dated May 5, 1994, or later FAA approved revision, must be maintained as part of the permanent records for the modified aircraft (See Continuation Sheet, Page 3 of 3)

4. The Flight Data Recorder used in the modification is supplied by Sundstrand Data Controls, Part Number 980- 4120GXUS and uses software Part Number 760-0230-006, Modification Status O. It was found that the longitudinal positive G input signal supplied by the biaxial accelerometer is clipped by the recorder such that the valid range is - 1G to +0.85G. Allied Signal Avionics will modify all units to correct this condition by Service Bulletin and revised units will be indicated by a modification dot on the front panel. This modification will use the present software and mod status until such time that the corrected units are available. This STC must be amended to reflect this as soon as the units are available and this limitation can be removed at that time.
