The FAA only approves this STC installed equipment for “safe carriage” as a partial approval, signifying that the military hardware and equipment comply with applicable regulations in a non-functional state. The receiving MAA is responsible for design approval, equipment qualification, system integration, compatibility, system architecture, functionality, and interface with aircraft systems, operation, and airworthiness approval for the installed equipment.
