Date: March 9, 2020 To: Neika Jones, Directives Program Manager, ASP-110 From: Dr. Michael C. Romanowski, Director, Policy and Innovation Division, Aircraft Certification Service, AIR-600 Prepared by: Pat Mullen, Manager, Small Airplane Standards Branch, AIR-690 Subject: Cancellation of Advisory Circular (AC) 23-11B Memo No.: AIR600-20-690-GM02

This memorandum requests the cancellation of AC 23-11B, 14 CFR Part 23 Type Certification of an Airplane Originally Certificated to European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) (CS-VLA) Standards or Joint Aviation Requirements—Very Light Airplane (JAR-VLA), dated October 7, 2009. AC 23-11B applied to Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 23 certification of CS-VLA and JAR-VLA prior to amendment 23-64. When EASA revised CS-23 to amendment 5, CS-VLA was combined with CS-23. Therefore, this AC is obsolete. We do not intend to address this subject in an advisory circular in the future.

If you have any questions on this, please contact Mr. William Schinstock, AIR-691, at 816-329-4177.
