1. PURPOSE. This advisory circular announces the availability of FAA-S-8081-5D, Airline Transport Pilot and Aircraft Type Rating Practical Test Standards for Airplane, and provides information on obtaining copies or electronic access of this document.
2. CANCELLATION. AC 61-122C, Announcement of Availability: FAA-S-8081-5C, Airline Transport Pilot and Aircraft Type Rating Practical Test Standards for Airplane - with Change 1 dated 3/1/99, is canceled.
3. BACKGROUND. The Airline Transport Pilot and Aircraft Type Rating Practical Test Standards for Airplane is published by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to establish the standards for airline transport pilot and aircraft type rating practical tests for all airplanes. These standards are to be used by FAA inspectors and designated pilot examiners when conducting practical tests. Flight instructors and applicants should find these standards helpful in practical test preparation.
