FAA Description of Airworthiness Concern (Who, What, Where, When, How? Attachments: RA and appropriate data) The FAA and Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) are concerned that the out of date information in AD 89-25-08 may create confusion and hardship when compliance to AD 89-25-08 is made. AD 89-25-08 requires the inspection of the wing lower front spar attachment wing fittings, the wing center section, and the outboard wing spar caps in the area adjacent to the attachment fittings. AD 89-25-08 requires the structural inspections are to be made in accordance with HBC Structural Inspection and Repair Manual (SIRM), Part No. 98-38006, Rev. A4, dated May 1, 1987. HBC has released several revisions of the SIRM since the AD issued. Other revisions may also be made to update the Airworthiness Directive. The FAA is considering revising Airworthiness Directive 89-25-08 to reflect the current data.

This Airworthiness Concern Sheet (ACS) is intended as a means for FAA Aviation Safety Engineers to coordinate airworthiness concerns with aircraft owner/operators through associations and type clubs. At this time, the FAA has not made a determination on what type of corrective action (if any) should be taken. The resolution of this airworthiness concern could involve an AD action or an SAIB, or the FAA could determine that no action is needed at this time. The FAA's final determination will depend in part on the information received in response to this ACS.

The FAA endorses dissemination of this technical information to all manufacturers and requests association and type clubs comments.
