Reason for Airworthiness Concern: The FAA has received reports that some the PITOT HEAT annunciators are miswired and could potentially lead to a condition where the pilot is not made aware of an inoperative pitot heat.
FAA Description of Airworthiness Concern (Who, What, Where, When, How? Anachments: RA and appropriate datu) There is a concern that an erroneous busbar may have been installed on the I. PITOT HEAT and R PITOT HEAT annunciation wiring circuit creating a condition where the annunciator may not illuminate for an inoperative pitot heat condition. The potential result of this is that if the pilot is not made aware of an inoperative pitot heat condition and moisture freezes on a pitot tube in flight, erroneous flight instrument indication may occur on the affected side or potentially both for the same flight.
