From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: at FL 350, in clear weather, enroute from Mexico city to los angeles, the #2 engine was shut down due to a loss of power, and the aircraft diverted to Mazatlan, Mexico. Inspection of the #2 engine revealed extensive nose cowl and fan damage requiring the engine to be replaced. Teardown inspection of the engine revealed traces of lavatory de-germ fluid on the fan blades and stator vanes. A faulty fwd lavatory drain, p/n 3600-1-1, was found during a post incident evaluation of the aircraft. Chemical analysis of a sample of de-germ fluid from Mexico city was identical to the de-germ found on the engine fan blades. This incident is closed.
