From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated "my aircraft had no malfunction, I just did not put the gear down. I heard a horn which I thought was the stall warning. However, I had plenty of airspeed. It wasn't until I heard the prop striking the runway that I realized what was happening. Contributing to my lack of action, that is extending the landing gear, was the straight in approach to the airport and my personal lack of recent flying experience. Mr. Schoettler stated he would accept any remedial training program the FAA felt was appropriate. This investigation is closed. privacy data omitted
