From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the flight crew reported that during final approach to the heliport, the no. 2 engine decelerated to flight idle. The flight crew switched the no. 2 engine governor to the emergency position and was able to return the engine to normal operating power. The aircraft landed without further incident. Subsequent investigation by maintenance personnel for offshore Logistics revealed that the cause of the engine deceleration was due to an air leak in the governor system caused by a deteriorated "o" ring in a fitting. A malfunction or defect report was submitted by the operator concerning this incident.

As the FAA filed it
