From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the no. 1 engine turbine outlet temperature (tot) increased to 800 degrees in cruise flight. The pilot reduced the N2 RPM of the no. 1 engine, lowering the tot to 750 degrees, and continued the flight to the planned destination. Maintenance found a piece of fiberglass chafe tape (approximately 4 inches x 4 inches) partially obstructing the engine inlet. Preliminary inspection of the engine compressor section did not reveal damage. The engine was removed from the aircraft to comply with the manufacturer's special inspection procedure regarding engine inlet obstruction. There was no injury and no damage to the aircraft. A malfunction or defect report will be submitted following the completion of the required inspections.

As the FAA filed it
