From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on March 14, 1995 at approximately 1142 PST, a Cessna 152, N5151B, operated by nice air, porpoised and bent the nose gear upon landing at reid-hillview of santa clara county airport, CA during a local flight. The pilot in command, Mr. Hiroshige ishino, who holds a student certificate, departed reid-hillview at approximately 1137 PDT. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed. Mr. Hiroshige was completing the first of a series of planned take-offs and landings. He either waited too long to flare, or did not flare for the landing. The result was a series of oscillations culminating in the nose gear collapsing and the propeller striking the ground. Damage was limited to the right wing tip, the propeller, the nose gear, and a probable broken crankshaft in the engine. Determined to be an incident. No pilot deviation or 8020-11 generated. This terminates the investigation and the report is closed.
