From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot reported he flew from Manassas (hef) to bryce (W92). When he landed at bryce he made a hard landing. After landing he noticed a severe nose wheel shimmy. After parking he looked at the nose wheel and saw nothing unusual. He then departed bryce. Enroute to Manassas he felt the landing gear was not fully retracted, because his airspeed was 80-100 knots when it usually is about 130 knots. At csn he contacted Manassas tower and informed them he had a problem. On arrival at Manassas he made several low passes at the tower's request and the gear was partially down. The gear was extended manually. After landing he had no nose steering. The aircraft went off the runway to the left hitting the VASI light damaging the right wing leading edge near the fuselage and damaged the propeller.
