What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Narrative: pilot was careless in his starting procedure by allowing the throttle position to be increased beyond what is recommended. He should have also been more alert to aircraft control after engine start. On 3/17/95, Mr. Blane c. larson, a private pilot was attempting to start N6138R, a Cessna 172RG, for the purpose of refueling the aircraft. He overprimed the engine with the throttle advanced. Upon starting, the engine surged and the aircraft lurched forward. Left main gear rolled into soft ground and the aircraft spun around hitting the hangar door with wing tip and prop impacted a telephone pole. No injuries and aircraft sustained minor damage. This incident is closed.
