From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Returning from spray run. Possible aerobatic maneuver. Entered spin. Recovered late from dive. Struck a barn. (-23) N9228R just completed a west to east direction spray operation using a nitrogen fertilizer and pulled up to a steep left turn to return to base. At a point during the low altitude turn, the aircraft went left wing down and rolled losing altitude clipping two trees and colliding with a tool shed and a barn. The aircraft heading at the time of impact was approximately 180 degrees from its pre-maneuver heading. The pilot survived with injuries and the aircraft and buildings were destroyed by fire.
