From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: I will simply start with the clearance to taxi. I was at the spirit aviation holding short of taxiway "d". I was cleared to taxi to 11L & hold. Some where about here I think I advised "unfamiliar". I taxied down "d" to the hold area & stopped. Four F-16'S were landing. After going to the tower frequency I was cleared on to the active & hold. As I wanted the jet wash & wing turbulence to be well subsided I called for a delay. I don't think the tower quite understood & he said the fighter would clear the r/w in about 30 seconds. I slowly taxied on to the r/w & held again cleared for takeoff. I added power to go. It was a good straight run. As I glanced at the air speed (60-65 mph is this a/c's rotation speed) it showed in the 50'S, as I looked back at the runway I saw a dark cable pass under the nose of the a/c immediately there after the nose of the a/c dropped toward the r/w & I heard & felt the propeller strike the r/w surface. I throttled back & as I had the a/c under control (& it was slowing) I slowly eased off to the left side. The engine was still idling & turning. I pulled the mixture back & a few seconds later turned the magneto switches off. I called the tower. I forget my exact words but told them I had a problem. As the a/c normally sits low I don't think they analyzed the situation for short (dpt) period of time. I checked all switches off & exited the plane, then got my passenger (wife) out. We moved to the side of the r/w, just in case. The fire trucks, police, etc. Arrived & secured the site. They were quite efficient. That's the crux of the incident. This is a good simulation, but for exact wording, times, etc., I suggest you review the tower tapes. End. End

As the FAA filed it

END. END
