From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the flight departed tamiami and proceded to mia vdr at 1,000 feet, then north on V51 in a climb. As the mixture was increased, the engine began to run very rough. The pilot diverted to X46 and contacted opa Locka tower, opf advised opf(X46) was closed, but pilot elected to land there anyway. The pilot attempted to clear fouled plugs, but after maintenance arrived, it was determined that the engine was covered with oil and was about to quit completely. A compression check was accomplished and #3 cylinder was found to have excessively low compression. The cylinder was changed. Oil was changed. Aircraft was flown to tmb. Further maintenance revealed oil had metal and engine was removed and sent to shop for overhaul. Engine p/n 0320H2AD (Lycoming) s/n 3105-76. T.s.o. 1315.0 hours t.t. 2094.8 hours.
