From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: Mr. Davis stated that he took off from btv at 1600 local time and proceeded north to a test sight. When he finished there, he said he decided to go to Swanton, VT (1B7) and shoot some touch and go landings. Mr. Davis stated that he was making a normal approach with flaps down to runway 01. A call came over the radio indicating that the gear was not down. By then he had flared preparing to land. He stated that when the prop struck, he powered up and made a go around. He said he looked at the gear lever and it was still in the up position. He lowered the lever, the gear went down, and a normal landing was made.
