From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: prior to accident, pilot stated he had rough running engine. While running the engine during the accident investigation, it was noted that there appeared to be a fuel metering problem. The servo injector control was removed and sent for fuel flow test. Inbound to Burke Lakefront Airport (bkl), pilot advised tower of rough running engine. Aircraft was cleared for O6L or 24R. A short time later the pilot advised that the engine was running fine and stated he would fly over the top for runway 06L. On final he again experienced engine problems, knowing he would not make the runway, he decided to retract the gear, and land short in lake erie, approx 100' from runway.
