From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on April 25, 1995, a Mooney M20K, taxied into the assigned long term parking space at Santa Monica, California (smo). After taxiing the aircraft into the parking space the pilot elected to run the engine for an additional period of time in order to allow proper cooling of the engine and turbo charger. While the engine was running the pilot was holding the airplane in place by applying pressure to the foot brakes. As the pilot reached over to the right front seat to gather up his charts the aircraft rolled forward. The propeller struck the rear stabilizer and fuselage of an unoccupied Beechcraft bonanza. Both aircraft have been towed to a local maintenance facility for repairs.
