From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: this pilot and aircraft was the third aircraft in a flight of three aircraft that departed shiremanstown, pa for Hagerstown, ME. On landing at Hagerstown, the aircraft made a formation landing in trail. This aircraft was the last aircraft in the formation. The pilot stated that just before touchdown, the aircraft entered the turbulence produced by the first two aircraft. His aircraft first dipped left wing low, then right wing low. When the wheels touched the runway, the aircraft yawed to the left and ran off the runway before he could stop it. It then struck the VASI light adjacent to the runway causing a nick on the propeller and a dent in the engine exhaust stack. The VASI light was destroyed. No injuries were incurred. No further action taken.
