From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: Mr. Fritz was conducting taxi tests on his cassutt sport. He had completed three test runs on the runway increasing his speed with each run. On the fourth test run, he increased the speed to approximately 45 mph. The aircraft reacted erratic and took an abrupt left turn. This was at an intersection, but the aircraft went into the dirt. The aircraft struck something with the landing gear and flipped over. The airport manager assisted Mr. Fritz out of the aircraft. Mr. Fritz suffered a cut and a blow to the head. He was treated and released at a local hospital. The tail wheel tire was found a considerable distance away approximately 3,000'. The taxi wheel had been ground down from contact with the runway. Mr. Grimes, the airport manager, took pictures and removed the aircraft after authorization from the FAA. I95SW010026
