From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Ground looped, poor flight prep and judgement (-23) on June 21, 1995, at approximately 0830 LCL Mr. Mattfield departed from his Private grass strip (2670' x 200') north of Bovey, MN headed for Alaska. Temp. Was 67 degrees f winds light and variable (GP2 reported 120 @ 05 knots. PIC departed to north because winds were light and obstructions were not as high and an additional 400' of open area went beyond end of runway. The Cessna 150 was loaded to gross weight wiht full aft CG aircraft lifted off in approximately 1300' or less and was at 20-30' AGL. Pilot determined withing seconds that aircraft was not climbing and likely would not clear obstructions. Pilot aborted takeoff and touched down approx. 350 feet from end of runway. Pilot braked heavily and skidded off end of runway into tall grass and began to drift to the left. Pilot says the right brake failed. Aircraft rotated around left gear, right gear broke off, right wing struck ground and was damaged. Aircraft came to rest approximately 350' from end of runway. There was no fire nor any injury to the pilot who was the sole pe son aboard.
