From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: although aca 825 accepted the crossing restriction given to them by cle ARTCC. They notified the controller prior to that point that they were unable to meet it due to warmer than normal temperatures. The aircraft was above FL 380, however, because of the automatic systems the aircraft was unable to reach 390. This caused a loss of seperation down the road with a perpendicular aircraft at 370. Aca 825 was north of djb VORTAC (cleveland) at FL 350 proceeding south to "iam". Aca 825 was questioned by cle ARTCC if they could climb to 390, 5 miles north of djb VORTAC they said "yes". However due to warmer than normal temperatures (plus isa) the aircraft stalled around 380. The cle ARTCC questioned the crew two minutes after the clearance if they could still meet the restriction and they said "yes". But due to the temperature they stopped climbing and so advised cleveland center while still outside of the crossing point. However, miles ahead this caused a loss of separation with a nwa 564 that was proceeding east bound over the "djb" VORTAC at 370. Incident closed by submission of report.

As the FAA filed it
