From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: airmen and air agency competency: the captain, crew chief and right wing walker used poor judgment in permitting the aircraft to taxi with in close proximity of another aircraft, especially when they questioned the situation at the time. Corrective action consisted of retraining the individuals on their responsibilities and safety limitations for taxiing aircraft in close proximities. All ufs, inc. personnel were briefed on this situation and to re-emphasize that awareness of safety is mandatory. Friday, August 18, ufs, inc.'s Atp aircraft #856 (flight 5019) was parked in spot 9. Air Wisconsin's 146 aircraft #611 (flight 5274) was parked on September 7. Grond taxi crew consisted of crew chief, right wing walker and left wing walker. In order for flight 5019 to taxi from the parking area, their aircraft must make a 180 degree turn under its own power. The flight began to taxi with a hard right turn, then stopped due to the closeness to the two aircraft's left wing tips. All three taxi crew members assessed the situation and agree that with the nose wheel cranked hard to the right, the wing tips would not intercept. Taxiing was recommended and immediately stopped. Wing tips touched and there was minor damage to left wing of both aircraft. An investigation was completed by the company. Discipline action was enforced against the crew chief, left wing walker and captain. The crew chief and wing walker were put under supervision for two additional weeks and the captain was retrained by a check airman. This incident controlled via ord FSDO #IGL3195031.
