From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Engine lost power at cruise. Crash landed on road. Auto fuel filter nut loosend. Rotated. Blocking fuel. Bogus type (-23) pilot state engine lost power and then quit. He made a forced landing on a road under construction. Upon contact with the surface the landing gear sheared off, the main wing spars bent and the aircraft came to rest on its nose, bending the propeller. Investigation on scene indicated the in line fuel screen was found not be be secured by design. The screen was able to rotate on a threaded shaft allowing the base of the screen to cover fuel porting holes which inhibited normal fuel flow. Position of the in line fuel screen was initally found to be covering the fuel porting holes.
