From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on Friday, October 13, 1995, at approximately 1435 EDT, MS. Annie black rabe was traveling west on airport road, Salisbury, NC in a 1989 pontiac. As she passed the approach end of runway 02, an aircraft on final approach to the runway struck the roof of her vehicle. Ms. Rabe was not hurt and there were three slight scuff marks on the roof of her car. During the investigation, MS. Rabe stated that she initially saw an aircraft as it approached from her left. She thought it was going to hit her so she closed her eyes, heard a loud roar which sounded like jet engines, and then felt her car rocking back and forth. Moments later she opened her eyes as the aircraft was passing out of view to her right. She described the aircraft as a white jet plane with red and blue markings. She also stated that another driver in a vehicle behind her saw the aircraft. She did not get the witnesses name. Further investigation indicates that the only aircraft in the vicinity of the Rowan County Airport at the time of the incident was a CE-150 with a student and instructor practicing landings and a saberliner which landed between 1425-1430 EDT. Atlanta center showed N20ES had cancele d their IFR flight plan at 14:19:41. The pilot of the saberliner claims the aircraft was on the ground and in the hangar by 1430. An airport employee has stated he witnessed the saberliner land at approximately 14:30 EDT. Ms rabe has seen the saberliner and states that she does not think it was the aircraft that struck her car, although it is painted white with red and black markings. Attempts are being made to find the other witness, but have so FAR been unsuccessful. A trooper from the north carolina state highway patrol has initiated paperwork to replace "low flying aircraft" signs which were recently removed from airport road during a repaving project. An employee of the north carolina dot advised the investigating inspector that the signs would be replaced by November 15, 1995. This incident is closed.
