From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft had departed Syracuse, NY at 1745 on an IFR flight to niagara falls, NY. During climb the pilot noted that the left alternator was not functioning and a short time later noted the right alternator had failed. The aircraft returned to Syracuse and landed in VFR conditions without further incident. The aircraft sustained no damage and no person was injured. Maintenance determined that the left voltage regulator and the right alternator were defective. These items were replaced and the aircraft returned to service. This incident is considered closed.
