From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot stated that during the final phase of landing, with roll 40 degree flaps and landing gear down, he observed a reflection on the runway which he believed may have been deer. He further stated that he added full power, cautious however not to exceed red line and retracted the landing gear, when he observed the objects to be gone he decided to land the aircraft. He stated that he applied a significant amount of back pressure to hold the aircraft up so as not to strike the runway. He also added that he trims (always) nose down during landings, so in case he needs to abort a landing the aircraft does not pitch up and stall. He stated he did not attempt to trim the aircraft electrically or manually. Also, he did not retract any portion of the 40 degree of flaps. He further added, "it happened so fast, I felt it best to land gear up, I heard the landing gear horn go on, but I did not have enough clearance for the landing gear to extend without striking the runway."

As the FAA filed it
