From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pulled prop thru prior start. Engine fired. Aircraft hit hangar parked aircraft. Mag switch was on right magneto. (-23) the pilot states he attempted to hand prop the propeller. The engine started and began to move forward on its own. The aircraft taxied into a hangar and into king air, N5Y, with one passenger on board. Both aircraft sustained substantial damage. No injuries were sustained. The investigation revealed that the aircraft had no mechanical defects and that the mag switch was in the right mag only position immediately after the accident.
