From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: history of flight: on November 26, 1995, at 0730 CST, a Mcdonnell Douglas MD-88, N953DL, operated by delta air lines, returned to Little Rock and landed without incident because the aircraft could not be pressurized. The aircraft had just taken off from Adams Field, Little Rock, AR. For a scheduled passenger flight to atlanta. There were no injuries and no fire. The aircraft was on an instrument flight plan in visual meterological conditions. Damage to the aircraft: there was no aircraft damage. Test and research: after the previous flight the right a/c pack was placarded inop per the MEL due to passenger complaints of low air flow from the "eyeball" vents. After the aircraft returned with pressurization problems maintenance found the auto pressurization controller inoperative, placarded the pressurization system in accordance with the MEL, and approved the aircraft for an upressurized passenger flight to atlanta. Atlanta maintenance replaced pack shut-off valve, p/n 219001241. This incident is considered closed.
