From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the westwind had dropped off passengers at fxe and wanted to do some pilot training. Because of the amount of traffic in the fxe area, capt. helton elected to proceed to sua to do full stop landings to train a new SIC. The pilot contacted sua ATCT and requested full stop taxi back landings and was cleared to land on runway 29. Capt. helton stated that after a normal touchdown on the center line they felt a vibration and shortly thereafter the aircraft began to drift left. Both pilots stated and the tower confirmed that the aircraft got into a skidding condition and capt. helton flying from the right seat attempted to correct with hard right brake and rudder pressure. When the aircraft had slowed to about 30 mph it went off of the left side of the runway at about the 3100 ft. point and mired in the sand approximately 30 feet from the runway. The tower controller reported seeing a puff of blue smoke shortly after touchdown and alerted the crash crew. Both main tires were blown and the inboard left main gear door was bent back. There was no other apparent damage to the aircraft.
