From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on January 18, 1996, 1336 local, at the Newport News/williamsburg international airport, piedmont airlines flight PDT 3371, a dash-8 aircraft landed on runway 20 and was cleared on taxiway delta. A value jet flight vja 487, DC-9 was cleared to taxi on taxiway alpha to delta. The dash-8 was then cleared to taxi around the DC-9 on the general aviation ramp side. At the same time the DC-9 was cleared to taxi onto taxiway delta. This occured approximately 60 feet from three Cessna aircraft parked on the general aviation ramp. As both aircraft continued to taxi, N49810, a CE-152, was flipped over and received substantial damage. Aircraft N20271, a CE-172, was turned 90 degrees but was not damaged. Both N49810 and N20271 were parked and unoccupied on the general aviation ramp. The evidence was inconclusive, and it was not determined which aircraft caused the damage. This incident is closed.
