From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: amta 514 requested pushback from gate C-5, kiwi 2 requested push back at gate B-7. Was advised to watch for amta pushing back. A-c pushed back. Tower warned kiwi to stop but signal to driver was too late and kiwi B-727 hit amta B-757 that was stopped in alley. Lack of sufficient wing and tail walkers for both airlines and insufficient monitoring by mow ATCT on ramp pushback. Both airlines have addressed the need for higher vigilance in this area. Will emphasize with maintenance personnel as with nwaa ground handlers (contract). Mow ATCT with Chicago dept. Of aviation will initiate better communication to eliminate any further problems. Ord-fsdo will continue to monitor operations and report any problems.
