From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: a m or d was submitted. On 02/02/96 at approximately 2210Z (1710 local EST), the PIC of a BE-200-200, enroute from dayton to wabash, IN., advised indianapolis ARTCC he had experienced a low fuel pressure light on the number (1) engine followed by an autofeather after which the number (1) engine had been shutdown. The aircraft was approximately 20 miles nortwest of dayton, but the PIC elected to continue the flight but changed his destination to gyy. The incident aircraft landed at gyy at approximately 2307Z (1807 local EST) without further complications. The maintenance personnel at the Gary center FBO inspected the aircraft after landing and found the engine oil level was low (quantity unknown) and there was oil in the exhaust case. Further investigation revealed metal particles and flakes in the oil filter and the scavenge oil pump shaft sheared. The engine was removed for metal contamination in the oil and sent to a repair facility. After repair the subject was reinstalled on the aircraft and subsequently returned to service. The PIC did not respond to request for information regarding this incident, nor did he inform the responsible FSDO of the incident occurrence.
