What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: not a pilot deviation. Preliminary report-- may be changed on receipt of additional data. The pilot was practicing takeoffs and landings when a black truck suddenly pulled out on the active runway in front of the departing aircraft. The truck applied heavy braking and the pilot had to swerve and apply heavy braking to avoid collision. The airport is uncontrolled. There is no ATC service or involvement. The pilot believed it was a maintenance vehicle,. However, contact with airport management, afd, and the contracted FBO has failed to identify the vehicle. Further, the authorized vehicles are yellow or "air force" blue. Most contractor trucks are white. Contractors and caretakers have been advised not to enter taxiways or runways without escort. Additionally, this occurred on Sunday when contractors and maintenance are not working and access is restricted to the main gate. privacy data omitted The airport manager's office noted that there have been recent theft problems. Need for additional security measures was discussed. Airport management is continuing to investigate. This report will be updated as necessary.
