From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft departed snow flake airport for local flight. During climb out, engine lost power (did not stop). Pilot landed aircraft in plowed field, damaging nose landing gear and denting right wing tip. Aircraft is a home built, registered aircraft. Conditional inspection was 7/2/95. During the on-scene inspection found dent in right wing leading edge slat, nose landing gear wheel sheared off and prop blade dinged. All minor. During engine inspection, it was noted that the front carb had a broken control cable going to the throttle slide. This is the reason for the power loss.
