From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: aircraft departed mkc enroute to dsm. During the climb, the pilot noticed right engine fire warning light on. Contacted mkc and declared an emergency. During turn to return to mkc, fire warning light went out. The pilot cancelled emergency and landed at mkc. Right engine was inspected with no evidence of fire or fuel leaks. Maintenance determined fire warning light caused by bad sensor. Aircraft departed mkc, to dsm with no further problems. 45 hours since last inspection primary 12-95. Dsm maintenance could not duplicate the problem. Aircraft was returned to service. This incident closed with this report.
