From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the glider rated private pilot and owner of this aircraft landed with his landing wheel retracted. This aircraft is equipped with a single wheel located in the front center of the aircraft. On approach to landing, the pilot was warned by the tower controller that it appeared that the gear was not down. The pilot is accustomed to hearing this report, since the landing wheel is very small and there is only one. As a result, he did not heed the warning and landed gear up. Damage was limited to the propeller and left wing out rigger (a removable leg with a wheel to keep the wings level during self launching operations.) Pilot was counseled regarding situational awareness and checklist procedures. This incident is closed.
