From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot: Ms. Linda bridwell lait stated that on March 30, 1996, at 1355 PST, Cessna aircraft, registration number N4319Y, was on short final approach to reid-hillview airport when just prior to landing the pilot noticed that the aircraft altitude was too high and the airspeed too fast. On initial landing attempt the aircraft touched down and immediately began to porpoise, MS. Lait stated that the porpoising action continued to become more severe, therefore, she applied additional power to takeoff and made another attempt at landing the aircraft. On the second attempt she made a successful landing and taxied the aircraft to the parking spot. Inspection of the aircraft revealed that the propeller blades sustained damage. No pilot deviation involved and no 8020-11 was generated. A copy of this report was furnished to the sjc FSDO operations unit. This concludes this investigation and this report is closed.
