What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Airworthiness was involved in that aircraft had an engine failure requiring a forced landing. Engine ran at the time of FAA investigation yet it had been tampered with and ran the day after accident. Reason for engine failure unknown. Airman competence was a factor in that the engine failed at 1000 ft. above airport pilot was unable to land aircraft on airport. He stated he got behind, flying too slow and mushing into ground. FAR 103 was violatee because this ultralight exceeds weight, fuel stall, and airspeed requirements. Empty weight is 317 lbs., fuel capacity is 16 gallons, airspeed exceeds 55 knots, stall speed 35 knots.
